i kept noticing the same thing when i talked to women who just became mothers. they don’t want another necklace that says “mama.”
they already know their name. what they don’t know yet is what to do with everything else that just happened.
mothers give something up and ger something bigger back. but nobody throws you a party for the trade.
i started juliane s because i couldn’t find anything that was for that mother- the version of her that’s here now, not the one from before.
everyone else seems to want her before motherhood. i wanted to make something for after.
she gets a card, a casserole. maybe a face mask.
